Getting Started

August 24, 2022

This is my initial blog post for JMC 406, Commentary and Blogging. Thanks for checking it out!

I love to shift through blogs dedicated to cooking, baking, and all things kitchen related. While I wouldn’t say I’m an expert in the kitchen, I do enjoy cooking and trying out new recipes and cuisines (last summer I worked my way through a French pastry cookbook).

I’ve often gone back to the food blog, Smitten Kitchen, for different recipes and tutorials that are friendly to both novice and expert alike. It’s a very welcoming and calm environment, which is not always the case with food bloggers. She only uses ingredients that found in almost any grocery store, so there’s no searching for out of place items – which is great if you live in a rural or small town. She has awesome step by step pictures along with detailed instructions, so you’re not left in the dark wondering what an instruction means.
